CITIES, TOWNS, Chambers of Commerce, civic and fraternal organizations as well as individuals are urged by the Governor of Alaska to prepare for the coming tourist season and do everything possible during the spring breakup to "assure our visitors that they will see Alaska with its best foot forward as to cleanliness and friendliness. It is imperative that we all make proper preparation for the reception of our guests, in order that their initial impressions of our great land shall be favorable, thereby creating a receptive attitude on their part."
Although April 15 to May 1 is a little early for this part of Alaska to have its clean-up campaign it is not too early to start planning and in the planning the number one project is to get the necessary repairs to the pavement on Front Street before the Midnight Sun Festival.
