High School Notes

Mr. Silas Nelson was here last Wednesday and gave an instructive talk about boat building to the members of the manual training classes.

Due to lack of funds baseball, as an interschool activity, may be dropped for the present year. We are hoping that some means will be found to maintain this sport as its elimination will be a great loss to the school.

A number of teachers and students expect to attend the oratorical contest to be held at the Chamber of Commerce rooms next Saturday night.

Joyce Harmeling who graduated from this school last year is back taking a post graduate course.

Norma Peterson, a member of the senior class, is sick with pneumonia. Her school mates are hoping she will be able to return soon.

The junior class has been faithfully working on preparations for the "Junior Prom." Ray Holmes' six piece orchestra has consented to come and promises some very delightful music. The decoration committee has made many clever plans in the oriental style which will be very effective.

Invitations following the plan of decoration were sent to former members of the high school and friends of the Junior classmen.

The freshman class is delighted at the return of Charlotte Canfield who has been absent for nearly three months.

The staff for the senior class Memory Book, which will take the place of an annual, has been appointed and is as follows: Margaret Edwards, editor; Homer Morris, assistant editor; Junior Shallenberger, business manager; Helen Yoshimura and Burt Mattson, assistant business managers; Isabel Urquhart and Virginia Jeffers, activities; Margaret Petersen, snapshots; Earl Hendricksen, athletics; Mary Lou Streets, art editor; Glen Willock, senior class editor; Ellen Hendrickson, junior class editor; Elizabeth Keyes, sophomore class editor; Harriet Fuller, freshman class editor; Alice Olsen and Charlotte Krokset, typists.
