Approval of the payment of $1,629.42 representing the balance due County Tax Assessor Claude Gandolfo in salary and office expenses this year was voted today by the Monroe County Board of Commissioners.
The board, which met in a recessed regular meeting, also voted to buy a waxing machine costing $233 which will be used to keep the floors of the county court house in condition.
The board also voted approval of the appointment of Richard Sawyer as new janitor of the county court house. The former janitor, Lester Dole, resigned to accept another position. The job pays $125 a month.
Chairman, Frank Bentley and members Gerald Saunders and Clarence Higgs inspected and voted approval of the painting and general renovation of the county court house. The work cost $8,300.
Next meeting of the board will be held January 7.
