Taft Law Again
Hartford, Conn. (LPA) - The Connecticut state AFL gave the Justice Dep't and Sen. Robert Taft (R., Ohio) another chance to make a test case of the Taft-Hartley law here last week when it joined with a local AFL union in placing paid newspaper ads calling for the defeat of Sen. Rob't Taft (R. Ohio and connecticut members of Congress who voted for the T-H law.
Carried in the Hartford Times, the ads were a deliberate challenge of the Taft-Hartley prohibition on unions making expenditures in political campaigns. The ads called for the defeat of Taft if he should be a presidential nominee and the rejection of six GOP Connecticut Representatives who voted for the anti-labor law.
