At Chicago Show
Farm boys and girls from 48 states, United States territories and foreign countries will play their usual prominent part in the events of the 49th International Live Stock Exposition which is scheduled for November 27 through December 4 in the Chicago stock yards.
The Junior Live Stock Feeding contest, at which boys and girls show cattle, sheep and swine of their own raising, and the Junior Livestock Judging contest which determines the national winner among state champion teams of amateur judges of cattle, sheep, swine and horses, are among the opening features of the show.
Show officials point out that farm youngsters have long taken top places, among winners in the classes of the International.
Last year the grand champion steer and barrow, two of three major show champions, were shown by youngsters in competition with adult stockmen from throughout the continent.
Auctioned livestock shown by boys and girls brought over half a million dollars at last year's International sales.
The 27th National 4-H Club Congress will be held in Chicago in conjunction with the International, bringing delegates from the far corners of the world. Exhibits and demonstrations of 4-H club work will be featured through the eight day run of the show in the 4-H club building adjacent to the International Amphitheatre on the show grounds.
