The New Daily Appeal

We wish we might be able to impress upon the minds of the Delegates to the Ormsby County Convention which will assemble here to-day the necessity--or, at any rate, the sound policy,--of putting such a ticket in the field as will not only secure the united support of all Republicans but which will merit and receive the confidence of the business community at large:

Those present incumbents of office in the County who are assured of a renomination will serve their own cause if they take pains to insure such action at the hands of the Convention as we have indicated. We cannot afford to repudiate any class of Republicans; and a conciliatory course will be not only fair but wise. Let such a course be adopted: and let the party's counsels as this day concluded leave no room for complaint. Moreover, in anything that is done to-day it will be well to bear in mind and carry out that sound political axiom, namely--to listen, attentively to the suggestions of the enemy and then pursue exactly the opposite course from that advised by him.
