Radio Classes Are Announced

The U. S. Navy recruiting station in Phoenix announced time schedules for radio classes being conducted by the Arizona Vocational School, Seventh and Fillmore streets, to qualify men to fill navy vacancies.

Meanwhile, the marine corps Arizona-New Mexico districts recruiting headquarters said it had enlisted one man in the over-age, guard duty class.

The radio classes are being held from 8 a. m. to 11 p. m. daily at the vocational school. They are designed to qualify men Class A or B amateur radi cen ses, after which they may be enlisted as second-class radiomen with base pay of $72 monthly.

They will be given eight months additional training in navy radio school, according to Frank Fusick, petty officer in charge of the station.

Capt. Frank Shannon of the marine office said Chester R. Mofford, a former employee of Goldwater's store, had been accepted in the 30-year-old classification.
