It is wonderful indeed, says a correspondent, that a man of Lord Shelburne's good sense & acquired knowledge, should think, as he does, that by a change of Ministers, and a fair discussion of the matter, the Americans might yet be brought back to a constitutional subordination to this country! As well might his Lordship think and assert, that the Goodwin Sands might be recovered to the British dominions, and again become fine fruitful fields and pastures to the descendants of Earl Godwin, if any such be living.
