At the Close of the Poll yesterday the Numbers stood as follows:

For Mr. Alderman Wilkes, 627.
Mr. Bull, 573.
Mr. Alderman Kirkman, 503.
Mr. Alderman Plumbe, 477.
Mr. Alderman Oliver, 79.

It is remarkable that on Monday Mr. Kirkman polled the favourite Number 45, and Mr. Wilkes 296, the Number of Colonel Luttrell's Electors at Brentford.

Yesterday, about Noon, the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, on his Return from Guildhall Chapel, went upon the Hustings and gave his Vote for Mr. Alderman Wilkes and Mr. Bull, amidst the loudest Acclamations of the People.

Mr. Alderman Harley voted for Mr. Oliver only, and was greatly hissed by the Livery.

The Insults which Mr. Alderman Sawbridge, Mr. Alderman Townsend, and Mr. Bellas, received on Monday in Guildhall, were produced by the Lord Mayor, who, although applied to by the City Marshal, refused to give Orders for any one Constable to attend.

Messrs. Aldermen Townsend and Sawbridge and Mr. Bellas, were greatly insulted on Monday at Guildhall, and in Cheapside on their Return from thence.

There was no Court of Aldermen yesterday, for Want of a sufficient Number of Aldermen.

When the Recorder was suffered to proceed in his Speech on Monday, at the Election of Sheriffs, he observed that the Election of Sheriffs was trusted in the Hands of the Livery by the Constitution of the City, from a full Confidence that they would not abuse their Trust, but, making the Support of the Interest of the City the principal Object of their Attention, they would select from the Good, the Wealthy, and the Independent, two fit and able Men, who equally deserved the Character of good Subjects and good Citizens.
