SAN FRANCISCO, March 14. (U.P.)—A narrow escape from death in an accident that claimed the life of a duck club keeper was related today by two prominent San Francisco residents on their return from a hunting trip on the Napa river.
The victim was Harry Wood, drowned when a skiff in which he was riding with Dr. Louis D. Bacigalupi, San Francisco surgeon and a director of the Bank of America, and Nat Boas, retired stock broker, was overturned.
Dr. Bacigalupi said the craft capsized when Wood tried to avoid colliding with a boat anchored in their course. The keeper, unable to swim, sank immediately. The other two were able to make shore but heavy clothing prevented their aiding Wood.
A search of the river was made for Wood's body.
