Pittsfield, Sept. 4—The memorial hall of the Bishop training school for nurses was filled this afternoon by members of the House of Mercy corporation and special guests who assembled for the historical meeting held in connection with the 50th anniversary celebration of the hospital. Mrs. Charles L. Hibbard, president of the corporation, presided and interesting historical papers were read by Dr. Henry Colt, who has been medical director of the institution since 1885, and Miss Phila M. Whipple. Dr. Colt referred in his paper to the history of the hospital that was read by the late Dr. J. F. A. Adams 25 years ago. Miss Whipple's paper also covered more especially events and growth since 1899.
