Enrollment High
At University

Enrollment for fall semester at the University of Alaska already has broken all records, Mrs. Laura E. Jones, registrar, said this week.

She urged Alaskan students who wish to live in campus residence halls to apply for admission at once.

The three men's halls already are fully booked, and Wickersham Hall, new 100-woman residence hall, has only a few vacancies.

"The new 100-man residence hall probably will be completed by mid-September, and this will relieve some of the pressure," Mrs. Jones explained.

First preference will be given Alaskan students. The institution has been forced to turn down a number of applications from outside Alaska.

The residence halls will open Sept. 9, and guidance testing and orientation for new students will be from Sept. 10-13. Registration for new students will be Sept. 15, and for returning students Sept. 16. Instruction will commence Sept. 17.

Applicants should write to: University of Alaska Registrar, College, Alaska.
