Burr Oak Ridge.
Several from this vicinity attended the surprise birthday dinner in Leon Sunday given in honor of Mrs. Bettie Evans, it being her sixty-fourth birthday.
Chas. Chastain is quite ill. He is being cared for by Dr. Foxworthy.
Miss Louie Lindsey gave up her school at East Eden on account of a dislocated hip. Miss Edith Bryson will finish the term for her.
Miss Lizzie Barry visited home folks Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frost and George Allen were Sunday visitors at Frank Chastain's.
Mr. and Mrs. G. Meek, Mrs. Mary Walton, Frank Chastain and wife, Mr. Edgington and James Barry were callers at C. E. Chastain's Monday to see the sick.
Mrs. Edgington was called to Tingley Saturday by the sad news that her neice, Anna Kimball, was seriously ill.
Mrs. E. A. Adams came down from Van Wert Tuesday to help care for the sick at Chas. Chastain's.
Everett Martin's were visiting at Hiram Burrow's Sunday.

Tom Baker, of Fremont county, is visiting with relatives in Eden.
Mac Cox, of Burrell, was swapping yarns with friends on the ridge Friday.
Gil Vanderpool is breaking a yoke of cattle to work. He says horses are too high.
Mr. Vantrees moved last week to Appanoose county, Lon Fulton moving to the farm he vacated.
The infant child of Albert Wheeler died Saturday night, and was buried at Davis City Monday.
S. P. Hoover has sold his farm in Appanoose county.
Thomas Cox has bought a half interest in Spawn Miller's butcher shop at Davis City.
Manchester Bros. have a new King road drag. Milt says they would be all right if the people would keep off the roads until they dry up.
Mac Baker and wife are the proud parents of twin girls. Mac is not a republican but he believes part of Roosevelt's doctrine is all right.
John Shumard and Taylor Newcomer, of Hamilton township, called on friends in Eden last week.
J. M. Barlean and T. P. Fulton were Sunday callers at Dan Tedrow's.
Millie and Russell Hoover were calling on friends on the ridge Sunday.
Ode Vanderpool and Sarah Still were Sunday callers at Squire Frank Cox's.
