The Garrisons of Oczakow and Kinburn amount to above 24,000 Men. It's added, that the Army under the Command of Count Munich continued its March along the Borysthenes. The Spies that this General sent towards Bender report, that there were no more than 15,000 Men in that Neighbourhood: but that this Place was put in a good Posture of Defence, its Fortifications having been considerably augmented. It's reported, that the Son of the Khan of the Crimea, with several Sultans, had passed the Borysthenes with a large Body of Tartars, in order to harass the Russians in their March towards the Niester; and that the Grand Vizir continued at Sophia, from whence he had made a large Detachment to Bender and Belgorod, to cover those Places in Case of their being attacked by the Russians; and that he, with the Remainder of the Army, was marching towards the Bannat of Temeswar.
