Hupp, Esq., was tried for committing a Rape on a respectable and elderly lady on Sunday the 27th ult., with circumstances of outrageous and diabolical character aggravated by a subsequent attempt at murder. Chas. U. Lovell, Esq. was assigned as counsel for the prisoner. Joseph H. Samuels, Esq. conducted the prosecution.
