RAILROAD ACCIDENT. - Yesterday morning as the train from Chicago, due here at 10 o'clock, was running between Pond Creek and Sheffield, it ran afoul of a broken rail, over which the locomotive and tender passed but which threw the baggage car, two freight cars, two coaches and the sleeping car from the track. The baggage and express car received the heaviest shock, and was tipped over into the ditch. The other cars and coaches kept right side up, and no great damage was sustained by them. Mr. Watson, Express messenger, was in the express car and had his ankle sprained in the fuss, and some other occupants got considerably shook up. The train was delayed about three hours. The rail was broken in eleven pieces. The stove in the express car was pretty hot, and set the car on fire, but it was put out by the boys pitching snow into it. Some of the express bills got severely scorched in the operation.
