JUNEAU. Dr. Earl Albrecht, Territorial Commissioner of Health last week said an increased annual fund for hospital construction within Alaska has been made.

President Truman's recent signing of the hospital construction bill, introduced by Alaskan Delegate Bartlett, raises the Territory's yearly appropriation from $41,400 to $100,000.

A survey made last year by the Territorial Department of Health showed that sixteen Alaskan hospitals are eligible for federal aid.

Communities requesting funds for hospital construction must raise one-third of the estimated cost
and meet territorial and federal specifications.

Allotments will be first made to those communities with the greatest need for hospital facilities.
