Macadamizing Streets.
John Fries, to whom was awarded the contract for macadamizing the streets in several improvement districts, this morning started operations preparatory to improving Crescent, Grove and Washington streets, those thoroughfares to be improved in a group to eliminate much of the confusion incident to tearing up one at a time. As fast as the preliminary proceedings can be arranged, Contractor Fries will rush the work in those districts on which he has been given the contracts, and an effort is to be made to complete the work at the earliest possible moment.
