Kentucky State Beats Knoxville
FRANKFORT, Ky (SNS) Kentucky State College's courageous "little men" rose to great heights here today and came from behind late in the ball game to snatch a 7-6 Homecoming win from a more powerful Knoxville eleven, thereby keeping intact their record of not losing a Homecoming game at Frankfort in the last 12 years, and delighting a fine crowd of some 2,000 fans. Just as Knoxville did in their previous encounter, the Thorobreds had to fight from behind to accomplish their victory for a determined Knoxville eleven that threatened continuously broke the ice first, scoring their touchdown in the middle of the last quarter But the Kentuckians had the courage and the fight necessary to put on the lightning-like finish that established them as one of the pluckiest and scrappiest elevens ever to perform for the Green and Gold The boys further proved that a team that "won't be beat can't be beat."
