Friday last arrived here Capt. Hunt in a sloop from Jamaica, and from the Jamaica Newspaper of Sept. 9. we learn,

That on the 4th of said Month, His Majesty's ship the Princess Mary returned to Port Royal from a Cruize, having received considerable Damage on the Fourmie Bank two Days before, where she was thumping near an Hour, but by being lightened got off; she threw out a signal of Danger to the Edinburgh Man of War, by which Means she escaped.

That a ship from Virginia was just going into Port Royal; and that the People and Part of the Cargo were saved.
