Last Tuesday last committed to his Majesty's Gaol John Welch, Charles Lane and John Berry, for a very uncommon Piece of Forgery, viz. they each of them presented an Order in the following Tenor.

Sir, Please to let John Welch have to the Value of Sixteen Dollars, he being a Soldier in my Company, and when the Muster Roll is made up I will account with you for the same.

To Mr. Sam. Parkman.

After taking to the Value of their Orders, they went peddling thro the Country at 20 per Cent Loss upon their Goods till they were apprehended. Note, They had other Orders in their Pockets, therefore such Shop keepers as are fond of intercepting the Soldiers Money by trading off their Goods, will do well to be on their Guard.
