Fifteen new members will join the faculty and administration of Capital University at the start of the 1960-61 school year, Dr. Harold L. Yochum, president, announced last week.
Rev. Howard Wilson, a graduate of Capital University and the Evangelical Lutheran Theological seminary, was appointed chaplain and will be an instructor in religion. He will replace Professor David Owens who served as the university's chaplain for 13 years. Professor Owens will take over as head of the English department.
A former Capital faculty member, Dr. William Young, will return to the campus as a part-time professor of English. After Jan. 1, Dr. Young will be assistant to President Yochum in the area of research.
A Capital University graduate, Dr. Young has served as executive secretary of the Board of Higher Education of the American Lutheran Church since 1946.
Other new faculty members at Capital University are Dr. Charles Oestreich, chemistry instructor; Keith Young, economics; H. Richard Wood, physics; Mrs. Patricia Adams, physical education; Charles S. Wehrer, Jr., education; Mrs. Elaine Oleska, piano; William H. Bonner, business education, and Richard Dargatz and Eugene Fogt, 1957 Capital graduates, part-time instructors in religion.
Stephen Lacey will serve part-time as a cello instructor at the Conservatory of Music. A former instructor at Capital, Lacey will also teach part-time at Denison University.
Joining Capital University's administration staff are Mrs. Rita Martin, treasurer's office, and Willard Books, director of public information.
Mrs. Marie Meyer, a head resident at Ohio State University for seven years and a past head resident of the University of California, will join the staff as a housemother.
