TUESDAY, February 2, 1892.

CITY COUNCIL.

Two Miners Frightfully Injured and It is Said Maltreated.

The city council met in regular session. Mayor Turner in the chair. The petition of James Stark stating that Dr. Jones had charged him $50 during his illness, caused by being injured while on duty in the fire department, that it was unjust, etc., was referred to the sanitary committee.

C. J. Linquist was granted permission to remove a certain frame building on Washington avenue.

Members of the library association withdrew their petition for the use of the present fire hall as soon as vacated on condition they be granted a portion of the second floor of the city hall. Granted.

Kent's military band asked for the use of Lester park pavilion for a May day ball. Referred to the committee on public buildings and grounds.

The Colorado and Utah Gas, Oil and Coal company, I. L. Prentis, Denver, Col., president, asked for a twenty-five years' franchise to lay pipes in Ogden to convey natural gas. Committee on streets.

W. H. Harvey, for repairing and fixing the present fireman's hall for museum and exhibit room of products of Ogden, Weber county, at estimated cost of $6. Referred to the committee on public buildings.

A large number of bills were ordered paid. The council then adjourned.
