Full Text

Several patriotick Gentlemen have very lately engaged in establishing a club on an independent plan, every member of which declares, on admission, his resolution neither to accept place, pension, nor any emolument under government, whilst he has a seat in Parliament. This club is already become respectable in its number, the names on the list amounting to near thirty, among whom are Sir Edward Astley and Mr. Harbord. The minority, as well as Ministry, we are informed, are rather displeased at it; and perhaps with some reason, since the members are not likely to be at the beck of either.
