COOLIDGE ASKS FOR DELEGATES MADE IT PLAIN THAT EFFORTS SHOULD BE MADE TO MAINTAIN STATE INTERESTS.

Washington, Jan. 4.—Secretary of War Davis made public today invitations addressed to the governors of all states asking them to name delegates to the second National Outdoor Recreation conference here January 20. The letter emphasized the desire of President Coolidge that the function of the conference should not be an effort to federalize recreation at the expense of state interests, but solely to effect co-ordination of common interests.
