BOSTON, Feb. 11.

LEGISLATURE OF MASSACHUSETTS.

The subject of the "Maryland Resolutions," agreeable to the report of a joint Committee, appointed to examine it, has been referred to the next legislature.

It was yesterday agreed, that a committee consisting of one person from each district, should be raised for the purpose of districting the Commonwealth anew, in order to apportion the representation to Congress, agreeable to the late census. The choice is to take place this day.

By a report lately made to the Legislative Body of France, it appears to be the intention of the French Government, that in Guadaloupe and St. Domingo, where the blacks have been declared free by law, they shall remain so; but that in Martinique, Isles of France, and Bourbon, slavery not having been abolished, shall be maintained. The report mentions, that an army and a fleet being destined for St. Domingo, &c. tranquility will be restored; and prudence and wisdom will bring about cultivation and industry; but that experiments in favour of the freedom of the blacks, had cost humanity too much blood to be repeated again.
