From Texas.-Col. Ben McCulloch, who was offered the Governorship of Utah, has been qualified as United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Texas.

The reports in regard to the crops are less favorable. The Galveston News of the 14th inst. says there had been a week without rain, nights cold, and days sultry, which was very unfavorable weather for the planting interests.

In Western Texas there is great complaint of drouth, and no stand of either corn or cotton had been obtained. In Middle Texas there had been sufficient rain, but cold nights and hot days had prevented the development of the young plants.

The Houston Telegraph complains of a severe drouth, but says that with good rains the crops in Texas would be certain and large.
