Trial Of Abernethy Postponed To Sept. 17

GOLDSBORO, Sept. 10.-(P)--The trial of C. L. Abernethy, Jr., charged with receiving stolen property, conspiracy to obstruct and with obstruction of election officials in the performance of their duties in the democratic primary, was postponed here today until Sept. 17.

Abernethy was a candidate for the democratic nomination for Third district representative.

The postponement in Wayne county superior court was made necessary when counsel for Abernethy indicated they would ask trial by jury. Trial of cases by jury will not begin until next week in the court.
