For Destitute Families; Public Is Urged to Respond Generously to Assist.
First cases of Christmas Opportunities are herewith offered to the public to be provided for this Christmas. In the list are only six, but others will follow.
In presenting these "opportunities", the Daily Dispatch pursues a policy it has followed for many years, in cooperation with the Salvation Army corps here. The circumstances of each case are known to Envoy Luther Morton and Mrs. Morton, who furnish the data, and who guarantee that all persons offered are in every way worthy of the help sought.
Individuals or groups desirous of helping the poor people whose cases are described in these "opportunities" are asked to communicate in person or by telephone with the Salvation Army, phone 502, for names and any other details desired. The army will receive cash and use it for the benefit of whatever case is selected if this is the wish of those who give. Or these individuals may take their own gifts to the needy families.
The Daily Dispatch can furnish no names, as it does not have them. All who will help must contact the Salvation Army, and assignment of a needy case will be reported to the Dispatch for acknowledgement the following day.
