The American party of Boone county
are to have an arousement on Monday
next. Several distinguished speakers from
abroad are to address the meeting, and an
organization will be commenced for the
summer canvass.

The Peabody Journal
discovers the names of democrats appended
to the call for the meeting, and says it is a
good thing for the democracy, as they will
be cleaner and stronger. There is a good
deal of dirt in the party yet, and will be, as
long as Peabody sticks to it. It is to be
hoped he will never join the Americans, as
he would neither make them stronger or
cleaner.
