of Jefferson.
We were gratified to observe in the last No. of
the Leesburg (Loudoun) Genius, the name of this
talented young gentleman suggested as the Amer-
ican Elector for the Jefferson District, whose well-known and cherished principles no truer limbed standard bearer could be found in the proud limits of the State.
Next to Alex. R.
Boteler, Mr. Kennedy has per-
formed more service for the party than any other
man in that part of the State, and we are pleased
at the desire manifested by his friends that he
should again buckle on his armor and do battle in
the glorious cause which he has so well at heart.
His "stumping" faculties are of the very first
order, and he is fully able to measure a lance with
the best of the Sag Nicht orators in that District.
We would say to our friends in that District, press
none but free men into service—men who fully
seek a brave and whose principles cannot be bought with a party price. There have been some scoundrels in that District who placed less value on an
oath than on the promise of an unprincipled and
disgusting demagogue.
Such a man is not An-
drew E. Kennedy. Experience is oftentimes ex-
pensive, but always a good teacher. The Ameri-
can Party of Jefferson have gotten rid of the excrescences that nauseated decent men, and have now be-
fore them a most propitious future.
