Full Text
Quietly Waiting at His Home.
Richmond (Va.) State.
Marshall T. Polk, ex-Treasurer of the State of Tennessee, who is popularly supposed to be in the penitentiary of that State "doing time" on a twenty-years' sentence for the larceny of State funds, with a fine of nearly half a million hanging over his head, is really quietly waiting at his own home, in Nashville, under bail, the determination of an appeal he took against the judgment. Possibly the severe judgment passed on Polk may yet stand him in good stead, and he may escape punishment for his moral lapses entirely.
