Game Warden Says They Are Protected the Year 'Round.
Quite a number of people are killing gray squirrels in this county who do not know what they are, as they are not native to this section, and consequently do not know that they are protected by the state game laws. Game Warden King states.
He calls attention to Sec. 57, Chapter 11, of the game code, which makes it "unlawful to hunt, take or kill game squirrels, commonly known as either gray squirrels, fox squirrels or black squirrels" at any time during the year in this state. Warden King says the squirrels are beginning to come over into this county from Pierce county.
