THREE DIE IN GRADE CRASH
ATLANTA, Ga., July 24. (UP)—A woman and two children were killed last night when the Seaboard Air Line's crack south-bound train, the Robert E. Lee, struck their car at a grade crossing near here.
A second woman and two other children were rushed to a hospital here in critical condition.
The dead, all of Atlanta, were:
Mrs. Osborne B. Griffin, 30.
Grace Griffin, 5, her daughter.
Annette Holt, six months old.
Mrs. Tom F. Holt, 28, mother of the baby girl, was critically injured. The other children were in a critical condition—Norman Griffin, 13, and Melvin Holt, 5.
Mrs. Holt was driving the car but was unable to give any explanation as to cause of the accident. The car was struck in the middle and completely demolished.
The train came to a halt in 300 yards down the track. All the occupants were thrown from the car except Mrs. Griffin, whose mangled body was taken from the wreckage.
Physicians at Emory university said there was little chance for the injured children to recover.
