Full Text

The Danes are fitting out 12 sail of the line to protect their Neutrality. There is reason however to apprehend that the Court of Denmark is secretly inclined to favour the French Revolution, and to render it assistance. A circumstance has been lately discovered which tends very much to confirm this opinion :--A Danish vessel laden with saltpetre and warlike stores from Copenhagen to France, was about a fortnight since taken by one of our cruisers. On examining her cargo, it has been found that some of the stores on board bear the mark as belonging to the royal arsenals at Copenhagen.--This discovery has very justly caused a strong memorial to have been dispatched on Friday last from our Court, to the British Envoy at Copenhagen ; to be by him presented to the Danish Minister, requiring a categorical answer as to the views and future conduct of the Court of Denmark in regard to France.
