One of America's foremost church leaders will dedicate the Rockville Christian Church, Sunday, November 22, 8:00 p.m. No preacher of our day or generation is more widely known than Dr. Daniel A. Poling. He will be the principal speaker at this service of dedication.
Dr. Poling is editor of the "Christian Herald," the leading religious magazine of this country and is the head of many other religious groups. Special music will be furnished by the choir. Dr. Ernest Bryan, pastor of the church will be in charge of the service.
Part Built in 1893
The original part of the church was built in 1893, the Sunday School Department Building was added in 1949 at a cost of $30,000.00. In February of this year a fire destroyed the interior of the main church Sanctuary. This section of the building in early American and Colonial architecture is being remodeled at a cost of $20,000.00, including a new organ.
The main church Sanctuary will seat 230 persons and the Sunday School Building contains 15 class rooms, large assembly room and a modern and complete kitchen.
The membership of the church is about 160 and the Sunday School enrollment is about 150.
