CYCLONE AND CLOUD BURST
Pass Over Northwestern Minnesota
Doing Much Damage.

St. Paul, July 5.-Specials state that a cyclone, followed by a cloudburst, passed south of Barnum Saturday. The Moose Horn river rose rapidly and in five hours the waters stood three feet deep in every house on the level ground and a raging torrent ran through the main street, compelling everyone to make a hasty move upstairs. Several families could not remove their effects. Every bridge in town was washed away and the streets were torn up completely. The houses of J. Murphy, Wm. Nevers and Fred Maguire were blown away and Mr. and Mrs. Murphy badly injured, the former probably fatally. The St. Paul & Duluth lost several bridges and several miles of track. A great many logs and ties were washed away. The water has subsided. but the town looks desolate.

Duluth. Minn.. July 5.-Nine persons were killed by the storms of Saturday night throughout Northwestern Minnesota. Of these only one was in the immediate vicinity of this city. he being drowned at Proctor Knott, a suburb, while trying to escape from a floating house by means of a sidewalk raft.
