Hunt Is Launched In City for Large Hat

Someone who has a warped sense of patriotism has purloined a Texas Centennial 10-gallon hat belonging to a McAllen newspaper man. Officers were notified Saturday.

The hat reposed in the corner of the newspaper office, and was stolen sometime the past week. It bore nearly 200 signatures of Hidalgo county residents.

T. S. Bryan, McAllen chief of police, wore the hat for several days and procured many names.

Any information concerning the hat should be reported to McAllen officers.
