Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 15.--Miss Phoebe Grant Stephens and Charles B. Rabson, the latter of Atlin, B. C., were married at the home of the bride in this city on Friday evening last. Mrs. Rabson is the daughter of the late William Grant Stephens, a cousin of General U. S. Grant, and has taught school in this city and at Elkhart, Ind. Her husband, who journeyed 4,000 miles to be married, is said to have been owner of two of the best gold mines in the Atlin district.
About 3 o'clock this morning he aroused his wife, and, despite her fears at this strange action, forced her to go out in the street with him. Forcing his way into a neighbor's house, he was knocked down. From thence the crazed man made his way to the river and jumped in. The body has not yet been recovered. Rabson is said to have had a large sum of money on his person.
