Later from Nicaragua.

The New York Herald says a Rivas (Nicaragua) letter, dated on the 6th of March, states that the people of that place were much dissatisfied with the recent acts of Col. J. H. Wheeler our Minister in that quarter.

His conduct is commented on as that of a filibuster whilst the marriages of parties at the office of the legation were likely to result in a most extraordinary amalgamation of races. It is stated that he introduced some of his friends from New Orleans to General Chamorro, in Granada; that they, after acquiring a local knowledge of events, went over and accepted commissions and money from Castellon, thus lowering our official dignity and the national honor in the eyes of the natives.

Colonel Daniel Jenifer is a candidate to represent the sixth district of Maryland in the next Congress.
