TAFT IS TIRED
SECRETARY RETURNS TO WASHINGTON WORN OUT BY HIS TRIPS.
Associated Press to Bismarck Tribune
Washington, June 22 - Pretty well tired out, yet in good health, with the exception of hoarseness, Secretary of War Taft returned to Washington from his western trip this afternoon. The secretary went immediately to his home where he saw some of the officials from the department who had pressing matters that required his action. He did not go to the department during the afternoon.
Mr. Taft in telling of his western trip, said that it had been a pleasant, though rather hard one as he had spent nine of the fourteen nights in which he was absent from the city on the road. He said he had entirely recovered from the attack of illness which he had suffered in St. Paul. In fact, the secretary said, the trouble, which was one of ptomaine poisoning, had passed away and he did not now feel the effects of it. Hoarseness troubles him some, and during the afternoon he went to a physician's office and had the affected locality thoroughly sprayed. The secretary thinks that with adequate rest the trouble will soon disappear.
