RECEPTION AT WRANGELL.

WRANGELL, Alaska July 12.-

Governor and Mrs. Bone and Miss Marguerite Bone were met by Mayor Grant and a committee of citizens upon their arrival here at 10:30 this morning. They were invited to Redman's Hall where an address of welcome was delivered by F. B. Bronson.

The Governor was called upon to speak and responded with an address that was full of good cheer and good sense.

He said Alaska was being governed by thirty-eight different bureaus and that there was thirty-seven too much.

"At this time," he said, "every condition is favorable to a new and unparalleled era of prosperity in this great Territory. In the first place the government at Washington is interested in Alaska and has a most sympathetic attitude toward the Territory than ever before. President Harding is interested in it. Secretary of Interior Fall is deeply interested in it, and this interest has spread all through the cabinet and to both houses of Congress."

The Governor said: "One of the things that Alaska needs most is publicity, everlasting publicity," and that he is going to do all in his power to give Alaska publicity, that while he is Governor one of the functions of his office will be to give Alaska helpful and needed publicity.

He also said that President Harding told him, if Congress adjourns by August 10, he will visit Alaska this year. He said that Secretary of Interior Fall also assured him that he is going to visit Alaska at the very earliest opportunity. Governor Bone, in conclusion, said that he had the great satisfaction of feeling that he was going to have the support of the President and his cabinet and also the co-operation of the newspapers of the country in his efforts to give Alaska a business administration.

Following the Governor's address he and his family were taken to the home of Late Chief Shakes, where they were shown a remarkable collection of Indian curios.
