Spain and Mexico.

We have advices from Havana of the 10th instant, to the effect that the Captain-General was in receipt of official despatches confirming the reports we have had via New Orleans that Gen. Gutierres had made satisfactory and ample atonement for his "outrages" on Spanish subjects, to the commander of the Spanish frigate, and that the latter therefore would refrain from proceeding to exact reparation by opening his guns on the town. A still more important announcement is that the President (Zuloaga) had given the fullest assurance to the French Minister that the demands of the Spanish Government against Mexico are to be complied with, including the payment of the Spanish debt, and indemnity to the families of the Spaniards who were the victims of the massacre of Cuernavaca. The Ilustracion (Government organ) makes this announcement in a leading editorial article, under the head of "Importante." The editior expresses the belief that the angry controversy between the two countries is now in a fair way of adjustment, and that there will be no resort to military operations on the part of Spain.--New York Express.
