WILLIAMSBURG, VA., May 4.
The sister-in-law of Elijah Green, colored,
enticed him into a house in West Williamsburg
Tuesday night and proceeded to carve him with
an axe. She inflicted ugly wounds on the head
and face before he could escape.
Dr. J. M. Henderson sewed up and dressed
the wounds.
Green's wife died only a few weeks ago and
her people claim that her death was caused by
neglect.
