TCOP Taxpayers' Committee Given National Acclaim

Such outstanding results, particularly in the conservation of lights, water, heat and power have been accomplished by the Taxpayers' Committee at TCOP during the past few months that its features have been adopted in Ordnance plants all over the country.

TCOP's ideas on "taxpayers' posters were so effective that the Ordnance Department in Washington produced and distributed a series of such posters to every Ordnance plant in the country. Many other features of the TCOP Taxpayers' program have also been adopted in other Ordnance facilities.

Lauded by Press

Highly complimentary editorials have appeared in the "Tax Front," official publication of the Tax Foundation in New York, which is represented by 28 state taxpayers' associations. Numerous articles have been published in the daily press lauding the economies being effected at this plant through the efforts of the committee.

Because of the number of recent personnel changes, reorganization of the advisory committees of the TCOP Taxpayers' Committee in Building 103 and Building 576 on all three shifts is now under way, according to E. R. Champion, secretary of the executive committee. Sub-committees in charge of conservation of the various utilities will then be given technical instructions by engineer-members of the special maintenance committee.

R. B. Ehlen, plant general manager, and chairman of the executive committee, emphasized this week that every employee is urged to become active in this work, whether or not he has been appointed to membership on one of the committees. "When you have an idea or a suggestion for saving money—your money—write it down and drop it in the nearest Suggestion Box. Don't put off doing it, and don't be afraid if your idea is rough or not fully developed.
