At one of the most unique graduation exercises ever witnessed in this community, the Barrett's Land O'Nod and Fairyland Kindergartens held a combined annual program at which time a total of 38 little tots coming from both schools passed down the line and received their certificates as graduates of the kindergarten schools. The event was held last Friday evening at the Federation of Clubs hall. Twenty-two of the young people were graduated from the Land O'Nod, while 18 received certificates from the Fairyland school.
Booker T. Washington's principal, Charles L. Williams, was the principal speaker for the evening, and Times staffer Elliott J. Pieze was the master of ceremonies.
Mrs. Vera Moorman is principal of the Land O'Nod, Mrs. Dorothy Beeman, is instructor; Mrs. Rosa Seymour is principal of Fairyland, and Miss Eloise Barrett is supervisor of both schools.
Miss Eloise Barrett, announced this week that both the Land O'Nod and the Fairyland schools will open their summer school sessions on Monday, July 6. Parents are urged to register their children as soon as possible.
