SINCLAIR TO BE CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR'S JOB

PASADENA, CALIF., Feb. 24. - Upton Sinclair, author, announced definitely here today that he will accept the Socialist nomination for governor of California.

"The greatest emergency of American history confronts the people of every state, not excepting California," Sinclair declared.

"The United States and California are the most looted governments in the world.

"If my name means anything in strengthening the protest against such misgovernment, I certainly will make a vigorous campaign."

Lena Morrow Lewis, state secretary of the Socialist organization in California, will be the candidate for lieutenant governor, as Sinclair's running mate.
