Saturday last an Express returned from Crown Point, where he was sent with Dispatches from his Excellency our Governor to General Amherst, on the first Advice received from Quebeck, which was the 3d Instant : the other Express with the Dispatches brought by the Dana Frigate. which arrived the 4th, had not reach'd Crown-Point when this came away, which was Yesterday night in the Afternoon--By him we learn, That the General with his Army still continued there, very busy in finishing the fine Fort erected at that Place-- that the Army has been so remarkable healthy, that only 1 Man of the six regular Regiments had died a natural Death since they left Albany-that the Provincials were also very healthy, but not so much as the Regulars ; That the Brig launched there the first Instant had got her Guns on board. and was almost rigg'd, and that they were going to build another Sloop immediately, which was to be finished in 12 or 14 Days, and to carry 16 Guns; That the French have 5 Vessels of Force on the Lake, viz. 1 of 16 Guns, 1 of 14, 1 of 10, and two of 8 -- And that it was said General Amherst intended shortly to push forward at all Events.
