CATTLE HERDS DWINDLING: RUSTLERS ARE ACTIVE

Indications of cattle rustling on a large scale are reported by ranchers in the southern and western part of Platte county and across the line into Laramie county, as a result of unusual shortages of cattle after the round up this fall.

It is thought that rustlers operating in trucks have butchered the cattle on the range and in some way covered their trails where they entered the highway.

It is probable that a greater part of the missing cattle have been driven out of the country on hoof.
