Full Text

Not a Drop to Drink.

Growler's attention has been called to the fact that no ice water is to be found on the 4 o'clock train on the New Orleans and Mobile Railroad. In weather like this, it would seem that humanity would prompt the Superintendent to place water on the cars. A lady, lately a passenger, stopped at Mississippi City, where there is a refreshment saloon near the road, and feeling very thirsty (there being no water on the train), she entered and asked for a glass of water, which the waiter refused to give. This is about as heartless as anything we have heard of lately, and we would suggest that a barrel of water and some ice be sent over to the polite saloon keeper.
